🚜 Massey Ferguson 5610 – Factory vs Stage 1 Tune

If you’re running a Massey Ferguson 5610, you already know it’s a reliable workhorse… but the factory calibration leaves a *lot* of untapped potential on the table.

Here’s what the ECU is actually doing from factory — and what a proper Stage 1 tune unlocks.

---
📊 Factory Output (AGCO Power 3.3L – Tier 4A)
- 105 hp (78 kW)
- 413 Nm torque
- Conservative torque request
- Soft boost strategy
- Very mild fuel delivery for emissions compliance

Great for emissions… not so great for heavy PTO work, loader jobs, or pulling implements in sticky conditions.

---
🔥 Stage 1 Tune Results (Safe, Hardware‑Stock)
Across verified dyno‑based tuners worldwide, the MF5610 consistently lands at:

- 133–135 hp
- 480–530 Nm torque

That’s a gain of:
+28–30 hp
+70–120 Nm torque

You feel this immediately in:
- Stronger low‑RPM pull
- Better torque recovery under load
- Smoother gear changes on Dyna‑4 / Dyna‑6
- Reduced throttle input for the same work (fuel saving potential)

---
⚙️ Why These Engines Respond So Well**
The 3.3L AGCO Power engine runs a Bosch EDC17CV44 ECU with very conservative factory limiters.
A proper calibration safely optimises:
- Torque request
- Boost control
- SOI & duration
- Load‑based limiters

No hardware changes needed. No stress on driveline. Just a more capable tractor.

Fendt 211P Vario — Performance & Efficiency Calibration Completed

We had a Fendt 211P Vario in today for a performance + fuel‑efficiency calibration.
Below are the technical figures for anyone interested in what the platform actually delivers before and after optimisation.

Factory Output (211P Vario S4):
- 85 kW @ 2200 rpm
- ≈380 Nm @ 1500–1600 rpm (peak torque band)

Post‑Calibration Figures:
- +12–15 kW increase across the upper load range
- +60–80 Nm additional torque** in the primary working rpm
- Improved low‑rpm torque stability
- Reduced throttle demand under transient load

Technical Breakdown
- The additional torque in the 1300–1700 rpm band allows the tractor to maintain ground speed with less downshifting.
- Higher cylinder fill and corrected fuel/air balance reduce the need for high‑rpm operation during PTO and draft work.
- The ECU no longer compensates with unnecessary fuel during load spikes, resulting in smoother torque delivery.

Fuel Saving Mechanism
Fuel reduction doesn’t come from “leaning out” the engine — it comes from efficiency under load:
- Less rpm required to achieve the same drawbar pull
- Fewer gear changes
- Lower boost demand during steady‑state work
- Reduced operator throttle input to maintain speed

Most operators typically see 8–12% lower fuel consumption, depending on implement, terrain, and driving style.

**Outcome for the Customer
- Stronger pull at lower rpm
- Better drivability under heavy load
- Noticeably reduced fuel burn per hour
- More stable operation across all working conditions

John Deere 6230 emission programming for a Marlborough based vineyard contractor.
Tractor had issues with engine start, often cut out after a couple of minutes, complete loss of power, not very usable.

Diagnostics showed EGR valve being stuck. EGR is now programmed out, disconnected, and tractor is happier than ever before.
